Market Structure: HH, HL, LH, LL
Har SMC concept isi ek foundation pe khada hai — price kaise move karta hai, yeh samajhna sabse pehla aur sabse zaroori kadam hai.
1.1 Market Structure Kya Hai
Market kabhi bhi seedhi line mein move nahi karta — wo hamesha swing High aur swing Low banata hua aage badhta hai. In swing points ke pattern ko hi Market Structure kehte hain.
Jab tak aap yeh nahi pehchan sakte ki market abhi uptrend mein hai, downtrend mein hai, ya range mein hai — koi bhi SMC concept (BOS, CHoCH, Order Block) sahi se kaam nahi karega. Isliye Market Structure hamesha sabse pehla topic hota hai.
1.2 Chaar Building Blocks
Higher High (HH)
Naya swing High, pichhle swing High se upar banta hai.
Higher Low (HL)
Naya swing Low, pichhle swing Low se upar banta hai.
Lower High (LH)
Naya swing High, pichhle swing High se neeche banta hai.
Lower Low (LL)
Naya swing Low, pichhle swing Low se neeche banta hai.
Jab lagataar HH aur HL bante rahein — market uptrend mein hai. Jab lagataar LH aur LL bante rahein — market downtrend mein hai.
1.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
Yehi concept har instrument pe same tarah kaam karta hai — chahe Gold ho ya koi Share.
BOS: Trend Continuation Ka Signal
Jab market apni current direction mein aage badhta hai aur purani swing todh deta hai — wahi Break of Structure (BOS) hai. Indicator mein hamesha short form "BOS" hi likha milega.
2.1 BOS Kya Hai (Shortcut: BOS)
Indicator, chart aur alerts mein isko hamesha sirf "BOS" likha jaata hai.
Uptrend mein agar price purani Higher High ko break kare — Bullish BOS. Downtrend mein agar price purani Lower Low ko break kare — Bearish BOS. Yeh trend ke continuation ka confirmation hota hai.
2.2 BOS vs CHoCH — Farak Kya Hai
BOS
Break trend ki SAME direction mein — trend continue ho raha hai.
CHoCH
Break trend ki OPPOSITE direction mein — trend palatne ka signal hota hai.
2.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
CHoCH: Trend Reversal Ka Signal
Jab market apni current direction ke opposite mein purani swing todh deta hai — wahi Change of Character (CHoCH) hai. Indicator mein hamesha short form "CHoCH" hi likha milega.
3.1 CHoCH Kya Hai (Shortcut: CHoCH)
Change of Character — jab price current trend ke opposite direction mein purani swing High ya Low ko close karke todh de. Yeh trend palatne ka pehla warning signal hota hai.
Uptrend mein agar price ek naya Higher Low banane ke bajaye seedha peechhe wali swing Low todh de — Bearish CHoCH. Downtrend mein agar price seedha peechhe wali swing High todh de — Bullish CHoCH.
3.2 CHoCH vs BOS — Farak Kya Hai
CHoCH
Break trend ki OPPOSITE direction mein — trend palatne ka signal.
BOS
Break trend ki SAME direction mein — trend continue ho raha hai.
3.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
OB: Institutional Entry Zone
Wo aakhri opposite-direction candle jiske baad price mein bada strong move aaya ho — yehi Order Block hai. Indicator mein hamesha short form "OB" hi likha milega.
4.1 Order Block Kya Hai (Shortcut: OB)
Order Block — wo aakhri opposite-direction candle jiske turant baad price mein bada strong move aaya ho. Bank/institutions ka "order" wahan park hota hai, isliye price wapas aata hai wahan react karne.
Bullish OB = wo aakhri bearish (red) candle jiske baad price sharply upar gaya. Bearish OB = wo aakhri bullish (green) candle jiske baad price sharply neeche gaya.
4.2 Bullish vs Bearish OB
Bullish OB
Aakhri bearish candle, jiske baad price sharply upar gaya.
Bearish OB
Aakhri bullish candle, jiske baad price sharply neeche gaya.
4.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
Order Block Ka Agla Kya Hota Hai
Har Order Block ka ek "fate" hota hai — ya to price use touch karke respect karta hai (Mitigation), ya use poora todh deta hai (Breaker). Dono outcomes ka apna meaning hai.
5.1 Mitigation Block (zone respected)
Jab price Order Block zone ke andar wapas aata hai aur usse react karta hai — bina zone ko fully todhe — us OB ko "Mitigated" maan liya jaata hai. Zone ne apna kaam kar diya, ab wo hat jaati hai.
5.2 Breaker Block (role flip)
Jab price Order Block ko fully close karke cross kar jaaye — zone "fail" ho jaati hai, aur uska role ulta ho jaata hai. Bullish OB fail ho to wahi zone ab Bearish Breaker ban jaati hai.
5.3 Mitigation vs Breaker
Mitigation
Zone touch hoti hai, role same rehta hai, zone delete ho jaati hai.
Breaker
Zone poori tarah close hoke todhi jaati hai, role opposite ho jaata hai.
5.4 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
FVG: Price Ka Imbalance Zone
3-candle pattern jaha beech ki candle itni strong hoti hai ki gap chhod deti hai. Price aksar wapas aake yeh gap "fill" karta hai. Indicator mein hamesha short form "FVG" hi likha milega.
6.1 FVG Kya Hai (Shortcut: FVG)
Fair Value Gap — 3 candle ka pattern jaha beech ki candle itni strong hoti hai ki gap chhod deti hai. Candle 1 ki High aur Candle 3 ki Low ke beech jo khali jagah bachti hai, wahi FVG hai.
Yeh gap ek "imbalance" hoti hai — market ne is zone mein properly trade nahi kiya. Price aksar wapas aakar is gap ko fill karta hai, phir apni original direction mein move continue karta hai.
6.2 Fill Hone Par Kya Hota Hai
Jab price wapas aakar poori FVG zone cover kar le (candle ki Low, gap ke bottom tak pahunch jaye) — gap "fill" ho jaata hai. Uska kaam khatam, zone chart se hat jaati hai.
6.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
Liquidity Pools Aur Smart Money Ka Trap
Jaha bahut logo ke stop-loss ya pending orders jama hote hain, wahi liquidity pool banta hai. Smart money pehle usse "sweep" karta hai, phir asli move deta hai.
7.1 EQH / EQL Kya Hai (Shortcut: EQH / EQL)
Jab do ya zyada swing Highs approx same level pe ho — Equal Highs (EQH). Same logic Lows ke liye — Equal Lows (EQL). Yeh levels liquidity pools hote hain, kyunki retail traders apne stop-loss ya breakout orders wahi rakhte hain.
7.2 Liquidity Sweep Kya Hai (Shortcut: Sweep)
Jab price kisi liquidity level (EQH/EQL ya obvious swing) ko wick se thoda todhta hai, lekin close wapas andar aa jaati hai — yeh Liquidity Sweep hai. Stop-losses trigger karke smart money ek trap laga deta hai.
7.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
IDM: Asli Move Se Pehle Ka Fake Trap
Ek chhota liquidity pool jo asli Order Block ya major level tak pahunchne se pehle sweep hota hai — retail traders ko galat direction mein trap karne ke liye. Indicator mein hamesha short form "IDM" hi likha milega.
8.1 Inducement Kya Hai (Shortcut: IDM)
Inducement ek chhota fake move hota hai jo bade move se pehle aata hai, taaki retail traders galat direction mein trap ho jaayein.
8.2 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
Price "Sasta" Hai Ya "Mehnga"?
Kisi bhi swing move (Low se High tak) ko 2 hisso mein baant kar samjha jaata hai — Discount (sasta) aur Premium (mehnga). Yeh concept entries ko trend ke sahi side pe lene mein madad karta hai.
9.1 Premium, Discount, Equilibrium
Swing Low se Swing High tak ke poore range ko 50-50% mein baant dete hain. Neeche wala 50% Discount hai (yahan se buying dhundhi jaati hai), upar wala 50% Premium hai (yahan se selling dhundhi jaati hai). Beech ka point Equilibrium kehlata hai.
9.2 Kab Buy, Kab Sell Dhundhein
Discount
Price "sasta" hai — yahan se buying dhundhi jaati hai (uptrend mein).
Premium
Price "mehnga" hai — yahan se selling dhundhi jaati hai (downtrend mein).
9.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
Fibonacci Ka Sabse Precise Entry Zone
Swing move ke 61.8% se 79% retracement ke beech ka zone — yahan se price ke wapas aane ki sabse zyada probability hoti hai. Indicator mein hamesha short form "OTE" hi likha milega.
10.1 OTE Kya Hai (Shortcut: OTE)
OTE Fibonacci retracement ka wo specific zone hai (generally 61.8% se 79% ke beech) jaha price ke wapas aane ki sabse zyada probability hoti hai. Premium/Discount ke saath combine karke entry aur bhi precise ban jaati hai.
10.2 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
4 Timeframes Ka Combined Bias
Sirf ek chart dekhna kaafi nahi. H1, H4, D1, aur W1 — chaaron timeframes ka trend combine karke ek final "bias" banaya jaata hai, jo trade ki direction confirm karta hai.
11.1 MTF Kaise Kaam Karta Hai
Har timeframe (H1, H4, D1, W1) apna khud ka trend calculate karta hai — same Swing/BOS logic se, bas alag time-scale par. Jab zyada timeframes ek hi direction mein align hote hain, bias utna hi strong hota hai.
11.2 Confluence Ka Concept
Jitne zyada timeframes ek hi direction confirm karein, utna hi high-probability setup banta hai. Agar sirf 1-2 timeframes align hon, signal weak maana jaata hai — agar 3-4 align hon, strong maana jaata hai.
11.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
Poora Analysis Ek Nazar Mein
Har concept ko chart pe alag-alag dhundhne ke bajaye, ek Dashboard sab kuch summarize kar deta hai — Trend, Active Zones, aur Multi-Timeframe Bias, sab ek jagah.
12.1 Dashboard Kaise Dikhta Hai
Dashboard dynamic hai — jo bhi logic Input mein ON hai, sirf uski row dikhti hai. Sab OFF karo to dashboard chhota, sab ON karo to poori summary ek jagah.
12.2 Rows Kaise Decide Hoti Hain
Har row uske corresponding Input toggle se linked hai. "Show Order Blocks" OFF karo — OB wali dono rows gayab ho jaayengi. "Enable Multi-Timeframe Analysis" OFF karo — poora MTF section hat jaayega.
Jitne Zyada Signal Align, Utna Strong Setup
Koi ek concept akela kaam nahi karta. Jab BOS, Order Block, FVG, aur Liquidity Sweep — sab ek hi zone pe align ho jaayein, wahi ek high-probability trade setup banta hai.
13.1 Confluence Kya Hai
Confluence — jab ek hi price zone pe multiple SMC signals (jaise Order Block, FVG, Liquidity Sweep) ek saath align ho jaayein. Jitne zyada signals ek direction mein overlap karein, utna zyada is zone se price react karne ki probability badhti hai.
13.2 Confluence Scoring
Jitne signals ek direction mein align hon, utna hi dashboard "Verdict" strong dikhata hai:
13.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
Confluence Se Actual Trade Tak
Signal milna ek baat hai, trade lena doosri. Entry, Stop Loss, aur Take Profit teeno ka sahi placement hi ek setup ko "tradeable" banata hai.
14.1 Entry, Stop Loss, Take Profit
Entry confluence zone (jaise OB+FVG overlap) touch hone par li jaati hai. Stop Loss us zone ke thoda peeche rakha jaata hai (invalidation point). Take Profit agla major liquidity level ya swing point hota hai.
14.2 Teeno Elements Ka Role
Confluence Zone
Jahan multiple signals align hote hain — OB, FVG, ya OTE zone.
Stop Loss
Zone ke thoda peeche — agar yahan tak price jaaye, setup invalid.
Take Profit
Agla major swing High/Low ya liquidity level.
14.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
Sahi Signal Bhi Bina Risk Control Ke Bekar
Duniya ka best SMC setup bhi tab kaam nahi aata jab position size galat ho. Risk Management hi decide karta hai ki ek loss account ko damage kare ya nahi.
15.1 Position Sizing Formula
Position size hamesha fixed % risk ke hisaab se calculate karte hain, fixed lot size se nahi. Isse har trade mein risk consistent rehta hai, chahe Stop Loss chhota ho ya bada.
(Yahan calculation ke liye 1 pip ≈ $1 per 0.10 lot assume kiya gaya hai — yeh sirf example ke liye hai, apne broker ke exact pip value ka verify karna zaroori hai kyunki yeh instrument aur broker ke hisaab se badalta hai.)
15.2 R:R Ka Asar
Agar R:R 1:3 rakhein, to sirf 40% trades jeetne par bhi account profitable rehta hai — kyunki har win, 3 losses ko cover kar deta hai.
15.3 Example — XAUUSD aur Shares Dono Mein
(Yeh bhi approx values hain, sirf example ke liye — apne broker/exchange ke actual pip/point value se calculate karo.)
Jo Galtiyan Sabse Zyada Hoti Hain
SMC concepts samajhna ek baat hai, unhe sahi tarike se apply karna doosri. Yahan wo galtiyan hain jo naye traders sabse zyada karte hain.
16.1 Mistake #1 — Confirmation Se Pehle Entry
Wick se price kahin bhi jaa sakta hai, asli confirmation sirf close se milta hai.
16.2 Baaki Common Mistakes
HTF (Higher Timeframe) Bias Ignore Karna
Sirf LTF (Lower Timeframe) signal pe trade lena, Multi-Timeframe bias check kiye bina.
Har OB (Order Block) Pe Trade Lena
Bina confluence [FVG (Fair Value Gap), Sweep] ke sirf OB dekh kar entry le lena.
SL (Stop Loss) Move Karna
Trade against jaane par SL ko peeche khiska dena — risk uncontrolled ho jaata hai.
Overtrading
Har chhoti movement pe trade lena, patience na rakhna high-probability setups ke liye.

Higher High (HH)
Higher Low (HL)
Lower High (LH)
Lower Low (LL)
2.2 BOS vs CHoCH —
BOS
CHoCH
3.2 CHoCH vs BOS —
CHoCH
BOS
Order Block
5.1 Mitigation Block (ज़ोन रिस्पेक्टेड)
5.2 Breaker Block (रोल फ्लिप)
5.3 Mitigation vs Breaker
Mitigation
Breaker
same logic Lows के लिए — Equal Lows (EQL)।
9.1 Premium, Discount, Equilibrium
Discount
Premium
Precise Entry Zone
Combined Bias
11.2 Confluence
12.1 Dashboard
"Show Order Blocks" OFF "Enable Multi-Timeframe Analysis" OFF
Strong Setup
13.1 Confluence
13.2 Confluence Scoring
14.1 Entry, Stop Loss, Take Profit
Role
Confluence Zone
Stop Loss
Take Profit
15.1 Position Sizing Formula

Entry
Common Mistakes
HTF (Higher Timeframe) Bias Ignore
SL (Stop Loss) Move
Overtrading

Market Structure: HH, HL, LH, LL
Every SMC concept is built on this one foundation — understanding how price moves is the very first and most essential step.
1.1 What Is Market Structure
The market never moves in a straight line — it always advances by forming swing Highs and swing Lows. The pattern formed by these swing points is called Market Structure.
Until you can recognize whether the market is currently in an uptrend, downtrend, or ranging — no SMC concept (BOS, CHoCH, Order Block) will work correctly. That's why Market Structure is always the first topic.
1.2 Four Building Blocks
Higher High (HH)
A new swing High forms above the previous swing High.
Higher Low (HL)
A new swing Low forms above the previous swing Low.
Lower High (LH)
A new swing High forms below the previous swing High.
Lower Low (LL)
A new swing Low forms below the previous swing Low.
When HH and HL keep forming — the market is in an uptrend. When LH and LL keep forming — the market is in a downtrend.
1.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
This concept works the same way on every instrument — whether it's Gold or any Share.
BOS: The Trend Continuation Signal
When the market advances in its current direction and breaks the previous swing — that's a Break of Structure (BOS). The indicator will always show it simply as \'BOS\'.
2.1 What Is BOS (Shortcut: BOS)
Break of Structure — when price closes beyond a previous swing High or Low in the direction of the current trend. On the indicator, chart, and alerts, it's always labeled simply "BOS".
In an uptrend, if price breaks the previous Higher High — that's a Bullish BOS. In a downtrend, if price breaks the previous Lower Low — that's a Bearish BOS. It confirms trend continuation.
2.2 BOS vs CHoCH — The Difference
BOS
A break in the SAME direction as the trend — the trend is continuing.
CHoCH
A break in the OPPOSITE direction of the trend — signals a possible reversal.
2.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
CHoCH: The Trend Reversal Signal
When the market breaks a previous swing in the opposite direction of its current trend — that's a Change of Character (CHoCH). The indicator will always show it simply as \'CHoCH\'.
3.1 What Is CHoCH (Shortcut: CHoCH)
Change of Character — when price closes beyond a previous swing High or Low in the opposite direction of the current trend. It's the first warning sign that the trend may be turning.
In an uptrend, if price breaks the previous swing Low instead of forming a new Higher Low — that's a Bearish CHoCH. In a downtrend, if price breaks the previous swing High directly — that's a Bullish CHoCH.
3.2 CHoCH vs BOS — The Difference
CHoCH
A break in the OPPOSITE direction of the trend — signals a reversal.
BOS
A break in the SAME direction as the trend — the trend is continuing.
3.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
OB: The Institutional Entry Zone
The last opposite-direction candle before a big, strong move — that's an Order Block. The indicator will always show it simply as \'OB\'.
4.1 What Is an Order Block (Shortcut: OB)
Order Block — the last opposite-direction candle right before a big, strong move in price. Banks and institutions park their "orders" there, which is why price often returns to react to that zone.
Bullish OB = the last bearish (red) candle before price moved sharply upward. Bearish OB = the last bullish (green) candle before price moved sharply downward.
4.2 Bullish vs Bearish OB
Bullish OB
The last bearish candle before price moved sharply upward.
Bearish OB
The last bullish candle before price moved sharply downward.
4.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
What Happens Next to an Order Block
Every Order Block has a \'fate\' — either price touches it and respects it (Mitigation), or price breaks straight through it (Breaker). Both outcomes carry their own meaning.
5.1 Mitigation Block (zone respected)
When price returns inside an Order Block zone and reacts there — without fully breaking it — that OB is considered "Mitigated." The zone has done its job, so it's removed.
5.2 Breaker Block (role flip)
When price closes fully through an Order Block — the zone has "failed," and its role flips. If a Bullish OB fails, that same zone becomes a Bearish Breaker.
5.3 Mitigation vs Breaker
Mitigation
The zone is touched, its role stays the same, and it's removed.
Breaker
The zone is closed through completely, and its role flips.
5.4 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
FVG: The Price Imbalance Zone
A 3-candle pattern where the middle candle is so strong it leaves a gap behind. Price often comes back to \'fill\' this gap. The indicator will always show it simply as \'FVG\'.
6.1 What Is FVG (Shortcut: FVG)
Fair Value Gap — a 3-candle pattern where the middle candle is so strong it leaves a gap. The empty space between Candle 1's High and Candle 3's Low is the FVG.
This gap is an "imbalance" — the market didn't trade properly through this zone. Price often returns to fill this gap before continuing in its original direction.
6.2 What Happens When It Fills
When price returns and fully covers the FVG zone (the candle's Low reaches the bottom of the gap), the gap is "filled." Its job is done, and the zone is removed from the chart.
6.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
Liquidity Pools and Smart Money's Trap
Wherever a lot of stop-losses or pending orders pile up, a liquidity pool forms. Smart money sweeps it first, then delivers the real move.
7.1 What Is EQH / EQL (Shortcut: EQH / EQL)
When two or more swing Highs sit at roughly the same level — that's Equal Highs (EQH). The same logic applies to Lows — Equal Lows (EQL). These levels are liquidity pools, because retail traders park their stop-losses or breakout orders right there.
7.2 What Is a Liquidity Sweep (Shortcut: Sweep)
When price wicks slightly beyond a liquidity level (EQH/EQL or an obvious swing) but closes back inside — that's a Liquidity Sweep. Stop-losses get triggered while smart money sets a trap.
7.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
IDM: The Fake Trap Before the Real Move
A small liquidity pool that gets swept before price reaches the real Order Block or a major level — designed to trap retail traders on the wrong side. The indicator will always show it simply as \'IDM\'.
8.1 What Is Inducement (Shortcut: IDM)
Inducement is a small fake move that comes before a bigger move, designed to trap retail traders on the wrong side. It's a small liquidity pool that gets swept before price reaches the real Order Block.
Confirming that price has already faked out before taking an entry improves entry accuracy.
8.2 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
Is Price \'Cheap\' or \'Expensive\'?
Any swing move (Low to High) can be split into two halves — Discount (cheap) and Premium (expensive). This concept helps you take entries on the right side of the trend.
9.1 Premium, Discount, Equilibrium
The full range from a Swing Low to a Swing High is split 50-50. The lower 50% is the Discount zone (where buys are sought), and the upper 50% is the Premium zone (where sells are sought). The midpoint is called Equilibrium.
9.2 When to Look for Buys, When for Sells
Discount
Price is "cheap" — this is where buys are sought (in an uptrend).
Premium
Price is "expensive" — this is where sells are sought (in a downtrend).
9.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
Fibonacci's Most Precise Entry Zone
The zone between 61.8% and 79% retracement of a swing move — where price has the highest probability of reacting. The indicator will always show it simply as \'OTE\'.
10.1 What Is OTE (Shortcut: OTE)
OTE is a specific Fibonacci retracement zone (generally between 61.8% and 79%) where price has the highest probability of reacting. Combining it with Premium/Discount makes entries even more precise.
10.2 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
A Combined Bias from 4 Timeframes
Looking at a single chart isn't enough. H1, H4, D1, and W1 — all four timeframes' trends are combined into a final 'bias' that confirms the trade direction.
11.1 How MTF Works
Each timeframe (H1, H4, D1, W1) calculates its own trend — using the same Swing/BOS logic, just on a different time-scale. When more timeframes align in the same direction, the bias grows stronger.
11.2 The Confluence Concept
The more timeframes that confirm the same direction, the higher-probability the setup. If only 1-2 timeframes align, the signal is considered weak — if 3-4 align, it's considered strong.
11.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
The Full Analysis at a Glance
Instead of hunting for every concept separately on the chart, a Dashboard summarizes it all — Trend, Active Zones, and Multi-Timeframe Bias, all in one place.
12.1 What the Dashboard Looks Like
The Dashboard is dynamic — only the logic that's turned on in Inputs shows a row. Turn everything off and the dashboard stays small; turn everything on and you get the full summary in one place.
12.2 How Rows Are Decided
Every row is linked to its corresponding Input toggle. Turn off "Show Order Blocks" and both OB rows disappear. Turn off "Enable Multi-Timeframe Analysis" and the entire MTF section is removed.
The More Signals Align, the Stronger the Setup
No single concept works alone. When BOS, Order Block, FVG, and Liquidity Sweep all align on the same zone — that's when a high-probability trade setup forms.
13.1 What Is Confluence
Confluence — when multiple SMC signals (like Order Block, FVG, Liquidity Sweep) all align on the same price zone. The more signals that overlap in one direction, the higher the probability that price will react from that zone.
13.2 Confluence Scoring
The more signals that align in one direction, the stronger the dashboard's "Verdict":
13.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
From Confluence to an Actual Trade
Getting a signal is one thing, taking a trade is another. Correctly placing Entry, Stop Loss, and Take Profit is what makes a setup actually \'tradeable\'.
14.1 Entry, Stop Loss, Take Profit
Entry is taken when a confluence zone (like an OB+FVG overlap) is touched. The Stop Loss sits slightly behind that zone (the invalidation point). Take Profit is the next major liquidity level or swing point.
14.2 The Role of Each Element
Confluence Zone
Where multiple signals align — OB, FVG, or the OTE zone.
Stop Loss
Slightly behind the zone — if price reaches here, the setup is invalid.
Take Profit
The next major swing High/Low or liquidity level.
14.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
Even a Good Signal Is Useless Without Risk Control
Even the best SMC setup in the world fails to work when position size is wrong. Risk Management decides whether a single loss damages the account or not.
15.1 Position Sizing Formula
Position size is always calculated based on a fixed % risk, never a fixed lot size. This keeps risk consistent on every trade, whether the Stop Loss is tight or wide.
(This calculation assumes 1 pip ≈ $1 per 0.10 lot — this is for illustration only; always verify your broker's exact pip value, since it varies by instrument and broker.)
15.2 The Impact of R:R
With an R:R of 1:3, the account stays profitable even winning just 40% of trades — because every win covers 3 losses.
15.3 Example — Both XAUUSD and Shares
(These are also approximate values for illustration only — always calculate using your broker/exchange's actual pip/point value.)
The Mistakes That Happen Most Often
Understanding SMC concepts is one thing; applying them correctly is another. Here are the mistakes new traders make most often.
16.1 Mistake #1 — Entering Before Confirmation
The most common mistake — taking an entry off a wick, without waiting for the candle to close. Price can go anywhere on a wick; real confirmation only comes from the close.
16.2 Other Common Mistakes
Ignoring HTF (Higher Timeframe) Bias
Taking a trade off the LTF (Lower Timeframe) signal alone, without checking Multi-Timeframe bias.
Trading Every OB (Order Block)
Taking an entry off any OB without confluence [FVG (Fair Value Gap), Sweep].
Moving the SL (Stop Loss)
Dragging the SL back when a trade goes against you — this leaves risk uncontrolled.
Overtrading
Taking a trade on every small movement, without the patience to wait for high-probability setups.
